I’m always looking for inspirational movies although sometimes it feels like there are only a few dozens.

There are a few of the movies you mentioned that I haven’t watched like Gifted Hand. It will be on my watch list. :)

One of the most inspirational movies to me is Shawshank Redemption, what do you think of it?

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Hi Anh, thanks for sharing that :) I haven’t watched it. Will make it sure to add it in my next-to-watch list.

  2. Victoria

Hi I have to say that Will Smith is one of my favorite actors and the film you reviewed is excellent, very moving. There is an old film called “Paper Moon” which is excellent, starring Ryan and Tatum O’Neil. Its a classic. Thanks for the “jolly good read”

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Hi Victoria, yes it is indeed a very moving film. You see a detailed review from The Pursuit of Happyness by checking it here. Ah thank you for sharing it :) I’ll check it.

My husband and I are big movie goers even though most of my friends like to stay in the comfort of their homes to watch movies on HBO or the other movie channels. I think I’ve watched most of the movies you listed on your site except for a couple, and you can bet I’ll be seeking them out soon. There’s nothing like a good movie to rest to. I call it non-guilty space out time! I like your site very much and I’ll be back to look at all your great content!

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Haha thank you Meher. I hope your life will always be inspired by the good movies. Looking forward to your next visit :)

  4. Norstad

Hello, very interesting site you have. I have watched some of the movies that you have reviewed like Hachi and Black Hawk Down. I like Hachi more cos there are less violence and everyone in the family even the children are suited to watch it. I have been looking for that movie of Will Smith for a while. Thanks to you I now know the title of it. Gonna watch it sometime when I no longer have anything to do.

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Hi Norstad, yeah I can understand what you mean with Hachi. I also like the movie and Hachi. Dog’s loyalty is very famous and he really represents the symbol of loyalty. You may want to check his article by clicking here.

If you want to take a specific look for The Pursuit of Happyness, I suggest you to read also my article here about how that movie can improve your life. Hope you will have a spare time to watch it :)

  5. Ann

    Hi Alblue,
What an awesome website you got here. I shall follow you.
Among the movies you recommended, i have yet to watch 3. Now I know what i will be doing 3 nights in a row. I totally agree with your list. Movies can change a persons life. Just like the books you’ve suggested. There’s a lot of crappy movies out there it’s hard to fid a good one that will really make a difference and give you motivation. Our world has been flooded with not just useless propaganda but brainwashing too.
    Thanks for this article.

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Hi Ann, thanks for the visit. You are right. Some movies are crappy but there are some really good ones like above movies to teach you about life. There are lot of other movies too, and I believe everyone has their personal favorite inspiring movies.

Thanks for reading the article too :)

  6. Julie

I do believe that movies can change your life, especially if it’s got a great, compelling, and inspirational story. However, I don’t think all movies have to have moral value to serve as something to learn from. A lot of my favorite films are actually pretty sad, or have a lot of crime and violence in them, but I think what makes them such great films is their ability to paint a picture of the human condition in a way that is beyond black or white and good or bad. For example, and I know this isn’t a film, Breaking Bad was such a life-changing story for me because it tackled things like the effects of greed, a thirst for power, and the choices we make out of desperation. i know it isn’t necessarily inspirational or feel-good, but it does change your life in the way that it opens your eyes to the complexities of humanity. Great list though, as most of the films you listed are some of my favorites to watch when I feel the need for a quick pick-me-up!

    1. Alblue (Post author)

Hi Julie, thanks so much for sharing your opinion :) I agree that some films are served on a sole purpose: entertaining the audience. It doesn’t need to have an explicit moral value. What I’ve listed above is some movies with rather explicit moral value.

Beside movies, sometime I watch animes or read comic books that actually have a great contribution in changing my life. I’m sure everybody has a differrent ‘life-changing movie’ in their list :) Thanks for sharing yours, and looking forward to your next visit.

  7. Uwais

These days, the amount of crap movies on show is really unbelievable. Finding movies with good themes and not just about sex, romance and unrealistic action is becoming increasingly difficult.

I did watch a few, but haven’t watched most. Jobs is definitely the first movie on my list

Thanks for the list of inspirational movies. Now I know where to come to find excellent movies.

    1. Alblue (Post author)

Hi Uwais, seems we have similar problems about movies lol. There is also a problem in the place I lived, where most of the TV series have this cliche issue: similar and cliche plot, crap CG, thousand episodes (yes, this is true), little to no moral value, and only serve as eye candy for the watchers.

Sure thanks so much. Come visit again if you want to see other inspiring recommendation :)
