Since February is the month with love theme, my company which I worked for decided to create some campaigns about Valentine, love, or anything related to relationship. Well, I got a bit carried and as you can see, some of the articles in this website since early February is almost always about lovey-dovey things (but still related to personal development)
In my previous interview with Joseph, we talked mostly about relationship. Other than him, actually I came across another website which talked mainly about wedding. The website is titled albabride.com, a nice website that can help you about anything related to wedding.
I try to get in touch with the website owner, Catherine Coe, and luckily she is glad to be interviewed by me. Well, I try to focus more on the wedding side, but her comments about general relationship things are also interesting. She is a type of ‘straight-to-the-point’ person, so expect shorter but focused and useful answers from the interview.
Without further ado, let’s check out the result of the interview below.
Introduction to Catherine
Q: Hi Catherine, thanks for your time. Can you explain a bit about yourself?
About me that is a tricky one. Firstly, I am a mother and also a grandmother. My family are important to me. I have worked in many areas. I am also a volunteer worker that assists in the welfare of veterans past and present and their families. I come from Scotland and love my small country which is part of the UK.
To make a living, I work for myself as an affiliate marketer on my website and also write some articles for people and help to build sites.
Q: Ah, that must be your website here, the albabride.com, Can you give me and the readers a bit insight of your website?
Albabride is gaelic for white bride, love weddings and worked in the hospitality for many years. Despite being divorced, I believe in marriage. I am seeking to inspire or give ideas for weddings, advice to save money and generally how to plan a wedding without too much stress.
I also have some struggles. Well, the biggest hurdle was creating a site I had no technical experience and I wanted to build one for myself. Luckily, I found a great educational program that taught me all I needed to know, I am still learning.
My best achievement it has to be, firstly I actually did it and get traffic so hopefully people are gaining some help from it

Valentine’s Day and The Most Important Thing for A Happy Wedding
Q: Well, you look great there with your website! Now, let’s move on to the main topic. Can you share your thought about Valentine’s Day?
Valentine’s day, Apart from the historical explanation, it is nice a day is set aside to say you love someone. However I feel we should do this more often. It is a nice time to get engaged if you live in a colder country, but is not always the nicest time to marry
Q: In your opinion, what is the best time should an unmarried couple decide to think about their marriage planning seriously? E.g.: should they talk about this as soon as they are in relationship?
On average, people give one year to plan for their big day with summer time the most popular time to get married. It certainly takes time and can be very stressful if you rush the planning.
Q: Some people tend to choose ‘good day’ / ‘good date’ for their wedding ceremonial date. However, it is not an uncommon thing that each mate has their own preference. For example, the groom wants 17 Jan 2017 but the bride wants 14 Feb 2017.
It may be a small thing but anniversary date is usually a very crucial thing to be considered. Do you have any opinion on this matter?
Most guys are usually happy to go with the bride’s date. However, if there is a difference you would have to talk that over. The date might not even be available. It could be more expensive, as the cost vary from each days and months. Talk together to resolve any differences.
Q: Some couple tend to have an ‘open’ wedding ceremonial (inviting all colleagues, high school friends, college friends, friends of the parents, etc), while others choose to have a ‘private’ ceremonial instead.
Both have their own considerations, but ‘private’ ceremonial usually make some colleagues or friends feels ‘alienated’. This may hurt some friendship or networking relationship.
In your opinion, what is the best consideration to hold a ‘private’ ceremonial and how can the couple avoid or reduce the potential of harming the relationship with the uninvited friends or colleagues?
Agreeing on wedding guests can be difficult, however there are two ways to deal with it:
- Have a small private ceremony for family and close friends and have an evening reception which can include the others (often this is what happens).
- Hard as it may be you will just have to explain to people that you just cannot accommodate everyone. Not everyone has an unlimited budget. Make sure to include closest friends, families, and relatives to reduce any negative concern.
Q: Divorce seems to be a trend lately, especially among the celebrities. Do you have any tips about how to choose an ‘until-death-do-us-apart’ partner?
Yes, divorce is always the possibilities and I am one of the statistics. There is no assurance as we grow and change. It is about understanding each others needs.
Whilst the wedding day is special, you also need to think about life after that, even if you feel you have chosen the right person it takes two to make it work. The most important one is communication. Talk to each other, show respect and love.

Closing: A Small Inspriration to Share
Q: Thanks so much Catherine! Just a few more questions about some inspiration for personal development. As a business owner, what is your biggest challenge to achieve success?
The biggest challenge to me is health issues, and like others self doubt at times. I felt online work fits around the health stuff and I can work at anytime. which is great
Q: Great! In your opinion, what can we do to have a better life?
To have a better life… I think mindset has a lot to do with it, keeping positive enjoying what you do and patience
Q: Lastly, please tell us what motivates you every day to achieve success!
My biggest motivation is my family, especially my grandchildren and I feel that this has given me a new lease of life as I struggled to get back into the conventional work place.I also want to be able to share what I know with others to help them.
And that is our chat. It may be short but still has a deep meaning and valuable lesson to us. I would like to say thank you again for her to spare some time for the chat.
