This year’s campaign theme is pledging for parity, as can be seen in the website

To honor this day, I was able to reach the owner of Her name is Sonia J. Bergeron. Being a businesswoman and single mom, she is a tough and inspiring woman. Surely, she is a good inspiration for every woman to raise their confidence and stand up on their own.

Below is the conversation between me and her.

Q: Can you describe a bit about yourself and what do you do to make a living?
I am the owner of a marketing agency specialized in the restaurant industry and this, for the past 12 years now.

Q: Can you briefly explain about your website , what is the goal of that website and your achievement so far?

Q: Being a single mom is surely tough! Can you share a bit how you can survive as a tough single mom?
Being a single mom is difficult, yes. However, I have never known anything else so for me, it’s natural. I have worked very hard to get where I am today and I continue to work hard every day. I never lose faith not hope and I always put my children first. They are my reason for everything.

Q: Aside from the kids, what other things you need to focus / improve as a single mom?
I need to focus on being happy and healthy. I need to make sure that I am stress-free so that I can wake up every day with a smile on my face.

Q: What is “happiness” to you?
Happiness is loving what I do. It’s being comfortable in my own skin and, most importantly, it’s being able to laugh at myself.

Q: So far, what is the biggest struggle you ever faced in your life and how you can overcome it?
My biggest struggle was accepting the death of my grandmother. This was when I really realized that life wasn’t always fair. However, it also made me realize that we only have one life to live and that we should make the most of it every single day.

Q: What is “success” to you and what mindset do we need to achieve it?
To me, success is being able to set goals and achieving those goals, no matter how big or small there are. To do this, one must love what they do and must be happy doing it. Too many people hate their lives and to me, that is sad. Success is all about attitude and having integrity.

Q: Lastly, please share a few message to the readers :)
Never give up on your dreams. Always believe in yourself and most importantly, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. Whatever your heart desires, you can achieve. I know this because that is the path that I am on. That’s the path that I have always been on. My book is the proof of that.

That’s all for this inspiring Q&A session. I would like to thank Sonia again for sparing some time answering my question. If you have any comment about this interview, do not hesitate to leave it below. Happy International Women’s Day :)

I’m Russian and Women’s day is a big deal in my country. It’s a holiday so we don’t go to work. Men give their women flowers, chocolate, little presents, they do all the house work, clean, do laundry, watch kids. Women go out, go shopping, hang out with girlfriends… You can see groups of women in restaurants, malls, parks… everywhere on that day. It’s pretty much a day off from the routine for all women. I love it! I miss it now that I live in the US and it is not celebrated here like it is in Russia :) Thank you for bring it up in your article! =)

Hi Nina :) Wow I’m glad to hear about that. It seems Russia really appreciate the gender parity. I hope in my country there will be a holiday for gender specific too like Russia. Is Russia celebrate International Men’s Day too?
