The Best Inspirational Songs All Time

Best Inspirational Songs
Share the Inspiration :)

When you wrote a blog about inspirations, it won’t feel complete without writing about what are your personal best inspirational songs all time :) Everyone knows that music is one of the most common things as a mean to inspire others, and I really love to hear it every day to keep me motivated.

Since there are so many songs I want to cover (about twenty actually), I will divide this post by covering first 10 inspirational songs in my playlist. I will post the second part in another time. Just in case, I want to state that all the song lyrics and images used here are belong to their respective owner, not me.

Here we go for my first 10 favorite songs:

1. Hero (Mariah Carey)

Hero - Mariah Carey, is also the best inspirational songs all time

“So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you’ll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you”

Despite having the word ‘Hero’ in the website’s name, this is a song that has so many influences in my life and also my second favorite song. The lyric part that was written above is my favorite past in this song. There are many times when a problem come and made my mood down a bit.

Even recently before I made this blog, I had an inner problem whether it is possible to create such an inspiring blog. I then remembered this song and decided that I will never know the answer until I tried. So, here it is. You are now reading my blog. It may be a bit stiff as this is my first time writing an English blog, but hopefully you can enjoy reading it :)

2. Fight Song (Rachel Platten)

Fight Song - Rachel Platten

“Starting right now I’ll be strong
I’ll play my fight song
And I don’t really care if nobody else believes
‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me”

When I make this post, Fight Song is still a new EP from Rachel Platten but has gained some popularity due to its theme. This song further motivates me beside the Hero from Mariah Carey. Although this blog is still new, there is a lot for me to do. There are many topics I like to post here, and I hope you can enjoy all of it and make you inspired.

3. Firework (Katy Perry)

Firework - Katy Perry

“Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make ’em go, “Aah, aah, aah”
You’re gonna leave ’em all in awe, awe, awe”

Man, I love almost every lyric in this song. It tells people to stand up and work with what you are actually good at, not what other people expect you good at. This song reminds me when I come across a ‘meme’ in my social media.

In short, it tells how often students at school are forced to good at academic skill without proper attention for their actual gift. Some students may good at sports or arts but bad at science or math, which should be OK. People have different talents and they should make use of it. I may have another post regarding this matter because it will take too many spaces here :)

4. Invincible (Kelly Clarkson)

Invincible - Kelly Clarkson

“Beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall
Cause I can take on so much more than I had ever dreamed
So beat down on me, beat down like a waterfall
Cause baby, I am ready to be free”

This is a rather new song when I write this post but quickly placed in my favorite inspirational songs. Yes, other people can beat me down as many times as they want, but I will survive them no matter what. This is true in my college and work life. The most important thing is to do what you feel is right to do, but don’t forget to consider others’ opinion too or you will lose yourself in the ‘I am the most righteous person’ world (which is notoriously known as high ego people).

5. We Own The Night (The Wanted)

We Own The Night - The Wanted

“May our hearts be full like our drinks tonight
May we sing and dance ’til we lose our minds
We are only young if we seize the night
Tonight we own the night”

One of my few favorite songs that tell me about enjoying the life. The song should be enjoyed as a whole rather than certain part of the lyric, which in turn may confuse you to drinking and clubbing for enjoying the life (but it’s actually not, in my opinion). The main point is you should enjoy what you are doing in order to achieve the true success, as a Hero of your life, your friends, or your family.

6. Touch The Sky (Julie Fowlis – OST Brave)

Touch The Sky - Brave

“I will ride, I will fly,
Chase the wind and touch the sky”

Anyone here watched Brave or a fan of Merida (the heroine)? One of their Original Soundtrack (OST) is also one of my favorite inspirational songs. It teaches me about freedom, specifically freedom to choose what you want to do and be a successful person with it. The original song is rather short compared to most other inspirational songs but it gives me inspiration as much as others do.

If you love Disney Songs, I strongly suggest you read some of my recommendations about best inspiring Disney songs by clicking here and here.

7. Wings (little Mix)

Wings - Litte Mix

“Cause wings are made to fly
And we don’t let nobody bring us down
No matter what you say – it won’t hurt me
Don’t matter if I fall from the sky
These wings are made to fly”

This is my other favorite song that teaches me about using your talent. We should be proud with it and don’t let yourself down when others mocking you. In my case, people often laugh at me when I started to imagine things.

They said that my imaginations are always too high, but I didn’t take it as an offense. I use those imaginations to write books and stories, and it also helps me to find topics for this blog. They can laugh as much as they want, but as long as I don’t use it for a bad thing, so what? Talents should be used because they are ‘your wings’, which are there to help you achieve the success. Just like what you hear in the song :)

8. Titanium (Sia ft. David Guetta)

Titanium - David Guetta ft Sia

“You shoot me down, but I won’t fall,
I am titanium”

I like its’ upbeat rhythm and David Guetta is the best DJ I’ve known in the earth so far, in my opinion. Since this is another version of the Wings song, I don’t comment on it too much. People can laugh at you, or mock you, or even hurt you in the way of your success path. But I believe, the sweetest revenge is to show them that you can truly achieve the success.

9. Price Tag (Jessie J)

Price Tag - Jessie J

“Why is everybody so obsessed
Money can’t buy us happiness
Can we all slow down and enjoy right now
Guarantee we’ll be feeling alright”

We may have different opinion regarding the meaning of this most famous song from Jessie J. However, there is an important message I really like from the lyric. Money can’t buy us happiness, and sometimes it is alright if we slow down a bit when hiking a path to success. We only live once, right? So it is also important to enjoy the process.

10. Hall of Fame (The Script)

Hall of Fame - The Wanted

“’Cause you burn with the brightest flame
And the world’s gonna know your name
And you’ll be on the walls of the hall of fame”

This is my first most favorite inspirational song all the time. Even just hearing an instrumental version or humming the song can make myself motivated. This song teaches me that I, you, and everyone else can be a champion with our talent. Yes, use your talent to achieve success and show the result to everyone around you. Be a Hero by using your talent.

And that is my first 10 best inspirational songs all time. How about you?

I believe there are many people here who have different opinion with mine. Everyone has different background, different gift, different circumstance, and also different taste. I would love to hear your best inspirational songs all time, or maybe you have a different lesson with the same song I posted above, or maybe you haven’t had one yet?

Regardless the differences, I hope you can be inspired with music, because music is one of the most wonderful gift and pleasure that humans have in their life :)

I like this, some of these songs are great, when you hear them you just sing along, and yes the can brighten your mood considerably, I mean my favourite is of course THE HALL OF FAME and I am sure many others find it great too, another good one is titled ANGEL WITH A SHOTGUN

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Wow thanks Kevin for sharing another new song. WIll try to listen it :)

  2. Asen

    Hey There,

great songs. In fact it appears that I like all of them :)
I would add several on the list though: Survivor by Destiny’s Child, Phenomenal by Eminem as well as Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk.
Music is so powerful when it comes to motivation.
Thanks for sharing this great list.

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Wow thanks for your suggestions :) Will try to hear those songs

  3. Malia

I agree about “Firework.” That song got me through one of the roughest days I ever had on an internship. I was completely ready to throw in the towel (had a manager who was being super difficult and we definitely we’re having a personality clash), and that song came on the radio. It was the first time I’d ever heard it, but I felt like Katy was singing right at me. Gave me the push to stick with it and complete my internship.

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Hi Malia. Wow that’s surely an inspiring story to hear :) Thank you for sharing your experience with Firework. Yes, everytime I hear this song, I always feel that Katy is singing directly to me too :)

  4. Evan

This is a really awesome list of motivational and inspirational songs! I know that music can be used as a tool to keep yourself motivated and pick you up when you are feeling down. I really like Titanium by David Guetta and sia, what is your favourite song out of the list?

    1. Alexander Blue (Post author)

Hi Evan, thank you so much :) My favorite one is Hall of the Fame by The Script and Fireworks by Katy Perry. Hearing those two once a day is enough to make me motivated.

  5. JeffWA

    Hi Alexander,
That was a very interesting list that you created featuring inspirational songs that one should listen to. I’ve known Mariah Carey for years now and it’s kind of shocking to know that she’s now in her 40’s regarding her age. I remember her as a vivacious and extremely talented singer back when she was in her 20’s.

I also remember Kelly Clarkson as being the first winner of the then popular “American Idol” singing contest that has been on the FOX channel for about 15 years now. This year coming up is the last for that show as due to age it has lost it’s popularity – as well as viewership.

I could add my own list of what I believe would be my own personal inspirational songs that have been such a positive influence on my thinking throughout my life. However it doesn’t matter as what you posted in your excellent article are songs that obviously have a great deal of meaning to you!

    Great job, sir!

    1. Alblue (Post author)

      Hi Jeff,

Yes I agree with you. Mariah Carey is indeed a very talented singer. I just knew from you about the upcoming American Idol season is the final and farewell season. You give me an inspiration to write something about the show. Thanks :)

Well, it never hurts to share your personal inspirational songs to others too. It may help someone to get inspiration :) But that’s OK. Thank you for visiting here.

  8. Ananomyx

Wow, this is a great post, it is really encouraging and just what I needed. I love Mariah Carey’s “Hero” I learned how to play it in the piano and sometimes I’ll play and sing and it really helps motivate me! Touch the sky is also a favorite, and the movie it came out on is cool as well! Thanks for your input!

    1. Alblue (Post author)

Hi Ananomyx :) Mariah Carey’s “Hero” really has a vibe for raising your inner ‘Hero’ huh? I agree so much with you on this. For the ‘Touch the Sky’ song, it helps when you imagining the movie while listening to it. Glad you like the article :)

  9. Chris

    Awesome article my friend!

There needs to be more positive attitudes and motivational speakers out there. This world has turned to so much negative and hating on others that people have essentially stopped chasing after the things they want out of life.

Great Read! I look forward to seeing more of your content in the future.

    1. Alblue (Post author)

Hi Chris, thank you for the compliment :) Yes I agree that motivational speakers are needed as long as humankind exist. I am not a speaker myself but I hope the insights that I posted here can be a another viable way to boost some motivation for the reader. Look forward to see you commenting :)

  10. Yuko

Music always has been the source of energy when things were hard in my life. You never know how many times I played “Hero” by Mariah when it was first released. And it was even before iTune came out!

Your blog here made me feel like listening to the song again. It’s been a while. I also want to try some of the songs that you listed here. Love Kelly Clarkson. Her voice conveys such a spirit, don’t you think?

Thank you, Alblue. Keep inspiring us! :)

    1. Alblue (Post author)

Hi Yuko. You are very right about that :) I love hearing music too when I’m working or taking a bath. Especially those with inspiring lyric and ear-catchy.

Yes I agree with you about Kelly Clarkson. Some of her songs have a really really good message :) Katy Perry’s songs also have similar traits with Kelly’s, although Katy is more on ‘bright colorful’ side while Kelly is more on ‘strong independent’ side. That’s what I think though.

      You’re welcome Yuko :)

  11. Iain carthew

Hi Lain. Yep, you are right. I really like listening to some inspiraitonal songs when I feel alone or failed. They really give me some inner strength and courage to move on :) Thanks for sharing your favorite song too. I’ll check the Baker Street then :)

  12. Mark

That is an amazing compilation you put together for your first 10 of 20 songs. I can totally relate… there a plethora of songs going back to the 70’s I can think of that has inspired me throughout the years. I would be doing myself a disservice if I tried to single out just one. So maybe i’ll come back to your site in the near future and share my top 10.

    1. Alblue (Post author)
